TEKNOSAFE FLAME PROTECT 2408-00 is a water-borne fire-retardant topcoat designed for the treatment of weathered wooden façades. The product is used as an industrial topcoat as part of the Teknos FR Façade system to improve the reaction-to-fire performance (EN 13501-1) of weathered wooden cladding. Substrate: Solid Spruce or glulam spruce boards from 19-57 mm thickness when taken in conjunction with the relevant fire classification report. Substrate suitability must comply with the relevant fire classification report when used as part of the Teknos FR Panel system.

When applied as part of approved Teknos FR Façade systems, TEKNOSAFE FLAME PROTECT 2408-00 fire-retardant performance has been classified B-s1, d0 / B-s2, d0 according to EN 13501-1 (SBI test) as part of the Teknos FR Façade system. Wooden façade products treated with the Teknos FR Façade opaque system meet the durability requirements of EN 16755, achieving DRF Class EXT for exterior use. The system also holds classification according to SP Fire 105 and provides fire-resistance ratings K₁10 and K₂10.
