Wood stain

Slightly thixotropic, alkyd-based transparent wood stain for outdoor use. Easy to apply and penetrates into the wood and forms no uniform film after the first application. Protects the wood against weather strain by slowing the effects from moisture, UV radiation of the sun and soiling.

Use: New and previously with transparent wood stain treated wooden surfaces, e.g. log surfaces, walls, doors, window frames and fences. Not suitable on film-forming wood stains, nor in greenhouses, hotbeds or shelters for livestock. Not suitable for indoor use.

Surface preparation

Remove all loose matter, dirt and dust with wire-brush, scrubbing brush or scraper. Wash dirty and/or mildewed surfaces with RENSA FACADE facade cleaner. Rinse the surfaces thoroughly with water and allow to dry.

Application

Stir thoroughly before use. Tinted product must also be stirred during the application, if needed. Apply the wood stain evenly and continuously on the whole length of the beam or timber to avoid making restart points. Treat end grain with special care.

Application conditions

The surface to be treated must be dry. The moisture content of the wood is to be below 20%. During the application and drying period the temperature of the ambient air, the surface and the product shall be above +5°C and the relative air humidity below 80%.

Volatile organic compound (VOC) EU VOC limit value (cat A/f): 700 g/l. The product's VOC: max. 700 g/l.
Tinting system Teknomix
Density abt. 0.8 g/ml
Practical spreading rate Sawn timber: 5 - 8 m²/l. Planed timber and log: 8 - 12 m²/l.
Drying time – touch dry 8 h
Drying time - overcoatable 16 h
Clean up TEKNOSOLV 1621 (solvent naphtha).
Colours Clear, to be tinted to translucent shades. If the parts are exposed to the influence of the weather never use colourless as the final treatment.
Packages Clear: 0.9 l, 2.7 l, 9 l, 18 l. Availability varies by country.
Safety markings See safety data sheet. NOTE! Because of the danger of spontaneous combustion, any waste from the product, spray mist and soiled rags etc. are to be kept in a fire-proof place in air-tight containers. Immersion in water is also recommended.
