FERREX COMBI

Water-borne anticorrosive paint

  • Corrosion protective
  • Water-borne

Water-borne tintable anticorrosive paint for priming, top coating and one layer painting for nearly all unpainted and previously painted metal surfaces indoors and outdoors. Excellent adhesion to metal and painted surfaces, as well as good weather and wear resistance. Corrosivity categories C4 and C5. Finish: semi-matt.

Objects to be painted: Metal surfaces indoors and outdoors. Steel and iron surfaces, when excellent anticorrosive properties and/or adhesion priming are required: e.g. sheet-iron roofs, facades, balcony constructions, roof ladders, fence constructions, doors, windows, pillars, beams, fixed and detached furniture. Recommended substrates: Various metal surfaces, such as iron, steel, zinc-coated steel, galvanized sheet steel (roof and facade sheets), aluminium and copper. Metal surfaces previously painted or primed with acrylate, alkyd, polyurethane, epoxy and polyester binder based paints or coatings. Adhesion on prefabrication primers is also good. Good weather resistance, so top coating is not necessary. Excellent colour and gloss retention.

Surface preparation

STEEL AND ALUMINIUM SURFACES: Surfaces to be painted are cleaned from dirt, grease, oil and other impurities. RENSA STEEL washing agent, solvent wiping etc. is used for cleaning. Steel surfaces: minimum requirement is thorough wire-brushing to preparation grade St2; recommendation to preparation grade Sa 2½ (ISO 8501-1). PREVIOUSLY PAINTED METAL SURFACES: Surfaces are cleaned from dirt, grease, oil and other impurities. RENSA ROOF washing agent, solvent wiping etc. is used for cleaning. Loose and poorly adherent paint or coating is removed. Rust is removed from the surfaces (preparation grade St2) using wire-brushing or other suitable method. Hard and glossy painted surfaces are roughened matt in order to ensure adhesion. PLASTIC COATED ROOF AND WALL SURFACES: Can be used for touch-up painting of rusted areas. Rust is removed from the surfaces (preparation grade St2) using wire-brushing or other suitable method. The edge of the cleaned area and solid paint layer is sanded smooth in order to ensure adhesion of the top coat. Sand the old painted surfaces matt from the areas, which will be touch-up painted with FERREX COMBI.

Application

Stir thoroughly before use. On vertical surfaces, when a dry film thickness of over 100 µm is desired, we recommend spray application twice. When FERREX COMBI is left without a top coat and applied with a brush, we recommend at least two coats.

Application conditions

The surface to be treated must be dry. During the application and drying period (note also the temperature of the night following the application) the temperature of the ambient air, the surface and the product shall be above +10°C and the relative air humidity below 80%. If the temperature of the surface to be painted exceeds +40°C, the application properties and the adhesion of the paint may deteriorate.

Storage

Must not freeze.
