Water-borne, 1-component coating for wooden floors. Gloss: matt.

HYDRO OIL is suitable for roller and trowell application on parquet and wooden floors in public spaces and homes. Forms a natural wax oiled and very durable surface.

Surface preparation

The wood surface must be dry, well sanded and free from sanding dust and other dirt.

Application

Untreated and clean-sanded surfaces: Fill the gaps with GAP parquet putty. Sand the surface with grit 120. Remove sanding dust. Treat the surface with one coat of HYDRO OIL along the grain of the wood. Intersand properly with grit 120–150. Remove sanding dust before applying the product. Repeat the treatment with thin layers 1-2 times. Ensure even absorbtion of the product with both layers. Factory lacquered parquets or previously lacquered floors: Clean the floor thoroughly. Intersand properly by using sandpaper or an abrasive net n:o 100–150. Remove the sanding dust with a vacuum cleaner and finish with a clean, lint-free, damp cloth. Apply one coat with a stainless steel trowel and after that 1–2 coats with a roller or trowel. In unclear situations, conduct preliminary tests to ensure proper adhesion to the substrate. Note! If the floor has previously been treated with oil, urethane or alkyd lacquer, the floor must be sanded to bare wood before lacquering. Maintenance treatment of the surface: To restore a floor treated with HYDRO OIL, first remove the scuffs and gaps by sanding the area gently with sandpaper grit 150. Then, apply HYDRO OIL to the restricted area along the grain of the wood. Ensure that the previous coat has fully dried before applying a new one. Always stir product thoroughly before use. Some rubber types in carpets and anti-slip materials may contain plasticisers that can cause permanent surface and colour damage to the lacquer and oil coat.

Application conditions

The surface to be treated must be dry. The moisture content of the wood should be 7 ±2 % by weight. The temperature of the air, the surface and the product shall be +18 - 25°C and the relative humidity of the air 35 - 65% during the time of application and drying.

Maintenance

The treated surface reaches its final hardness and washability within 2 weeks. Rough handling and washing is to be avoided during this period. Stained surfaces can be cleaned with a moist cleaning cloth or mop. Use a neutral detergent. Very dirty surfaces can later be cleaned with a slightly alkaline universal washing detergent.
