An alkyd-oil primer for wooden, chipboard and similar surfaces outdoors.

Priming external walls, doors etc. wooden surfaces outdoors when they are going to be top coated with dispersion or alkyd-oil paints.

Surface preparation

Unpainted surfaces should be treated as soon as possible. Clean the surfaces from loose wood fibre, dust, dirt and wash with RENSA FACADE facade cleaner, when needed. The surfaces are to applied with clear wood preservative from the WOODEX series. Previously painted wooden surfaces are cleaned from loose or poorly adherent paint, wood fibre and other impurities. Thereafter the surfaces are washed with RENSA FACADE facade cleaner. Replace rotten, mildewed and damaged wooden parts with new ones. Bare wood surfaces are to be primed with clear wood preservative from the WOODEX series. PUUPOHJA is only to be applied on bare wooden surfaces that have been pretreated according to the instructions given above and not on old painted surfaces. Bare metal surfaces are cleaned from loose rust, grease and dirt, wire brushed and primed with FERREX.

Application

Before use stir the paint thoroughly. Apply by brush, roller or spray.

Application conditions

The surface to be painted must be dry. The moisture of the wood must be below 20 % of the dry weight of the wood. The surface to be painted has to be dry. During the application and drying period the temperature of the ambient air, the surface and the paint shall be above +5 °C and the relative air humidity below 80 %.

Safety markings See Safety Data Sheet. NOTE! Because of the danger of self-ignition, any waste from the product, spray mist and soiled rags etc. are to be kept in a fire-proof place in air-tight containers. Immersion in water is also recommended.
