Teknos signed a EUR 115 million sustainability-linked loan facilities agreement
Teknos Group Oy has signed an unsecured €115 million sustainability-linked loan agreement with its four relationship banks, supporting its commitment to sustainability. The agreement includes a €50 million term loan to refinance the Group's existing indebtedness and a revolving credit facility of €65 million for general corporate purposes.
This agreement further strengthens Teknos' financial position with a three-year term and the option for two one-year extensions, subject to lenders' approvals. It replaces the previous €140 million sustainability-linked loan agreement from June 2021.
The loan margin will, in part, be adjusted depending on Teknos' performance with its chosen sustainability indicators. Teknos Group has chosen three indicators to measure its performance:
- Lost Time Incident Frequency Rate (LTIFR),
- Scope 1+2 emissions intensity (kgCO2e/metric tons produced) and
- Scope 3 emissions intensity (kgCO2e/metric tons produced)
These indicators are in line with Teknos Group's Corporate Social Responsibility Programme. Incorporating sustainability targets into Teknos Group's loan terms is an important part of the company's sustainability strategy. This agreement underlines Teknos' commitment to sustainability and growth, which considers environmental, social, and governance aspects.
"I want to thank our relationship banks for the new financing arrangement. We look forward to continuing our good cooperation. We are pleased with the terms of the financing. As a continuation to our previous sustainability-linked loan, the new agreement provides an additional incentive for continuous improvement of our sustainability work", says Petri Kansi, CFO of Teknos.
The mandated lead arrangers and lenders of the syndicated facilities agreement are Danske Bank, Nordea Bank, OP Corporate Bank and SEB. OP Corporate Bank acted as the Coordinator, Sustainability Coordinator and Agent. Clearwater Corporate Finance acted as financial advisor for Teknos.
