Teknos Sustainability in 2024
On May 23, 2025 we have published our non-financial report for 2024. By publishing non-financial information, we strive to provide transparency into the progress of our sustainability efforts and the impact we create.
Our non-financial report provides an opportunity for our entire organisation to come together and share our progress and the commitments we have made and where we still need to improve. The report describes our progress in the areas of being responsible as defined by our strategy.
“We are driven by our purpose – We make the world last longer – and understand it impacts everything we do”, says Paula Salastie, CEO.
Concrete actions to build a sustainable company
In 2024, Teknos advanced its sustainability efforts by improving energy efficiency at several sites—optimizing ventilation systems, upgrading to LED lighting, and installing motion sensors. We also enhanced wastewater treatment at our Vamdrup facility. As the only paint and coatings company in the Nordic Circular Design Programme, we are leading industry dialogue on circular economy principles. Our focus includes using biobased and secondary raw materials, designing products for reuse, and improving the sustainability of packaging, with continued efforts planned for 2025 in line with the CLP legislation.
People at the core
In 2024, Teknos strengthened its people development efforts through global leadership events and targeted training focused on clarity, psychological safety, and change communication—reaching 94% of leaders. A company-wide Employee Engagement Survey provided key insights for enhancing communication, performance, and collaboration. We also refreshed our governance framework and standardized roles across the organization to support equality and effectiveness. Looking ahead, we remain committed to fostering a culture of knowledge, courage, and passion, while attracting the right talent to support our growth.
Looking to the future
In 2025, Teknos will advance its efforts to support the Paris Agreement and align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on challenges related to scarcity, security, and climate change through four key areas: Future Generations, Sustainable Solutions, Responsible Operations and Supply Chain, and People and Culture.
At Teknos we know that only by working together will we make the world last longer.
