WOODEX AQUA WOOD OIL

Wood oil

  • Water-borne

Water-borne wood oil for outdoor use.

Natural oil for outdoor use for protection of garden deck floors, jetties and wooden garden furniture. Other suitable objects are fences, trellises, doors and stairs. For untreated, heat-treated and press-impregnated wood. Applied on clean, dry wooden surface by brush, sponge or by dipping. Protects wooden surfaces from moisture, soiling and when tinted from UV radiation of the sun. Deminishes cracking of the wooden surface.

Surface preparation

Remove from the surface all loose matter, dirt, dust and brittle top layers of the wood with wire-brush, scrubbing brush or scraper. Clean the surface to be treated. Remove old paint or varnish layers before the treatment. Use RENSA TERRACE deck cleaner on surfaces to be treated, when needed. Rinse the surfaces thoroughly with water and allow to dry. Untreated new wood is primed with wood preservative from the WOODEX series.

Application

Stir thoroughly before use. Tinted product must also be stirred during the application, if needed. Apply once or twice. Depending on the quality of the wood, the treatment is renewed. The possible excess oil is wiped off. Reserve a sufficient amount of oil of the same batch for each uniform surface. Not suitable for greenhouses, hotbeds and shelters for livestock.

Application conditions

The surface to be treated must be dry. The moisture content of the wood is to be below 20%. During the application and drying period the temperature of the ambient air, the surface and the product shall be above +5°C and the relative air humidity below 80%. Application in strong sunlight or in moist weather is to be avoided. It is recommended that press-impregnated wood is let to dry for at least 6 months after the installation before it is treated.

Maintenance

For surfaces that are continuously exposed to weathering a renewed treatment is done yearly, or whenever required.
