TEKNOTOP 2980-11 is a water-borne, industrial topcoat for wooden balcony parts. Leaves a surface with extra UV-protection.

TEKNOTOP 2980-11 can be applied by flow coat or dipping (manual and automated). TEKNOTOP 2980-11 will typically be applied on pre-treated substrates such as softwood, hardwood, Accoya or modified wood. TEKNOTOP 2980-11 is available in translucent colour shades, and can be supplied as base for on-site tinting or as factory tinted products. TEKNOTOP 2980-11 is a highly protective, robust and easy to use topcoat, which typically is used for balcony parts, garden furniture or playground equipment.

TEKNOTOP 2980-11 has been developed especially for application on horizontal surfaces, but can also be applied on vertical surfaces, and thus it can also be applied on garden furniture, playground equipment etc.

Surface preparation

The wood must be free from wood dust and contamination. The moisture content of the wood should be approx. 13% and should not exceed 15%. Pretreatment is required for wood substrates not meeting Durability Class 3, EN 350:2016. Teknos has a range of preservative products meeting the requirements of EN 599-1, please contact Teknos for further guidance.

Application

Due to evaporation, the solid content of the liquid must be adjusted with water regularly.

Application conditions

Stir thoroughly before use. Optimum temperature for products and surroundings: +18°C - +22°C. Optimum relative air humidity: Approx. 50%. Film thickness: Approx. 100 µm wet.

Storage

Storage temperature is +5°C - +30°C. Shelf life in unopened containers: See “Best before date” on the label. Keep containers tightly closed after use.
