Teknos aims for newly launched ISO 45001 by end of 2025

Teknos will be starting a  program in all of its manufacturing sites in order to achieve the newly developed ISO 45001 standard by the end of the next strategy period 2025.

The standard, named as Occupational health and safety (OHS) management systems - Requirements aims to prevent work-related accidents or diseases by helping organizations to improve employee safety, reduce workplace risks and create better and safer working conditions.

" The overall objective is to provide the Group management with an better overview of the level of EHS management at our facilities and to support future EHS budgeting. We also believe that the standard will help us in risk management to benchmark best practices and to learn from each other”, Group QEHS Manager Tiina Partanen says.

The new standard was developed by a committee of OHS experts and it follows other general management systems such as ISO 14001 and ISO 9001. The standard takes into account International Standards in this area such as OHSAS 18001, the International Labour Organization's ILO-OSH Guidelines, various national standards and the ILO's international labour standards and conventions.

Anthesis Group, a company specializing in global sustainability services and solutions will be supporting Teknos by conducting the audits.
