The power of a strong feature wall
The idea of painting a wall yellow might sound a little terrifying to some. As you can see from the image above, a splash of yellow doesn’t have to be as imposing or as garish as one might think.
A warm glow on a feature wall behind a bed or chest of drawers in a bedroom can do wonders for the feel of a small room.
Pictured here is PJ 8485, which is smiling in confident yellow.
Meanwhile bathrooms, open-plan kitchens, children’s rooms and playrooms can be transformed with wipeable, moisture-resistant washable semi matt shades, available in a rainbow of colours. Luxury matt finishes work well too and will look particularly attractive in more ‘grown-up spaces’ like the dining room or a home office.
For a feature wall colour that would work well in a ‘grown up space’ look at shades of greens and reds. These are bold colours that in the wrong space could become quite overpowering if painted on all four walls. However, used correctly on a statement wall, they are capable of making a subtle impression that will really lift a room.
