Main goals of the job

  • Together with the manager, plan and execute tasks and projects within the laboratory.
  • Follow up on tasks and projects in the laboratory.
  • Create documentation, reports and presentations, to inform the sales and management teams on the progress of projects.
  • Maintain and develop the product portfolio of products within the business unit.
  • Support the commercial aspect of the business by researching and testing alternative raw materials.
  • Understand the markets in which we operate, review the competition landscape and make suggestions for comparable development products.
  • Actively work to the values, vision and strategy of the company and support the local roadmap strategy. ​

Daily tasks and responsibilities

  • Finding customer-oriented solutions, in cooperation with the sales team / CEM.
  • Product formulation from conceptualisation through to commercialisation.
  • Testing products to certified standards internally and with independent external bodies.
  • Specifying systems for customers.
  • Take part in supplier/customer visits, trials and exhibitions.
  • Support production and QC in troubleshooting and formulation scale up.

Qualifications​

  • General understanding of paint formulation, in the laboratory as well as in production and application lines.
  • Good understanding of the customers' needs in terms of productivity and price performance. 
  • English language well spoken and written.
  • A minimum of 4 years in the painting industry or similar industry, with experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 2 years' experience in exterior and or interior water-based and UV coatings covering application and formulation.
  • B.sc / M.sc/ PhD or other similar education.
