Product Management executive

Location: Johor Bahru - Malaysia

Main goals of the job

Responsible for Product management – product category & assortment. Liaison and close cooperation with local management and with Teknos Group Product Management team.

​Daily tasks and responsibilities

  • Global products by Group/other subsidiaries – harmonization process and balancing product portfolio, introduce new/ strategic product launches locally.
  • Local manufactured products – plan for new product development and refine existing products with collaboration with colleagues from R&D, Technical Service and Sales.
  • Product launches/NPD, including product launch plans, timeline, develop sales tools/ sample kits that support the selling of products (if applicable), brochure/flyer, etc.
  • Conduct product marketing training to equip sales team with the necessary sales pitch based on TCG (target customer group), product USP/value propositions and systems to sell the products. Co-ordinate with Technical Service Manager for application training.
  • Managing product life cycle from formulate of product strategies (positioning, pricing, USP), to tactical activities (communication materials, promotion). Actively implement local non-slow mover focus and define local “clean-up” actions.
    Responsible for non and slow mover related activities and task.
    Product information management:
    • To coordinate product data implementation locally.
    • To implement changes in product names and monitor Global product name policy and trademarks locally.
    • To implement product related warranties using global templates locally.
    • Updating of local website (Products and Download pages only)
  • Product packaging: coordinate with Purchasing Dept in selection of package types in local production and locally purchased products from external suppliers in full compliance with Global package assortment definitions.
  • Build market intelligence on competitors and customers, analyze market trend
    To implement globally assigned actions locally.
    Any other marketing related tasks or projects assigned from time to time.


  • Possess at least degree, preferably in marketing/ business.
  • Min. 2 years of product management or product marketing experiences in B2B industry.
  • Experience from chemistry related industries would be preferred.​
  • Ability to exercise influence over people.
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, including ability to conduct presentations/training in public.
  • The ability to grasp and translate technical capabilities into benefits are crucial.
