Business Development Director / Manager, Professionals and Distributors

Location: can be in any of the Teknos locations 

Main goals of the job

This position is to strengthen Teknos Group’s Customer Experience Management/Business Development/ Sales activities in its mission to drive Teknos’ strategy of fast and profitable growth. In this position, you will be a member of the Customer Experience Management (CEM) Team on group level and you will report to a Group Commercial Director. There is not a preferred location for this position since it requires travelling up to 80% worldwide.

A Business Development Director / Manager at Teknos has the responsibility for the global planning, implementing, managing and running of business development activities and competence building in Teknos countries locally within a dedicated target customer group (TCG).

We are looking for Business Development Managers / Directors to support the further development in Professionals / Distributors.  

Daily tasks and responsibilities

In this role, you will be ensuring Teknos’ business and sales development. To succeed in this position, you will establish and develop relations with dedicated group functions in Technical Service, Research and Development, Product Management, Marketing etc, Teknos countries and local specialists, external partners and stakeholders. Your main tasks will be to analyse, manage and coordinate the following: 

  • Develop new business together with the countries – support countries in new business openings (technically and commercially) and run business negotiations with selected accounts. 
  • Building competences in countries together with the local team (incl. hiring, training etc.). 
  • Support handover to local countries when local setup is feasible and monitor progress. 
  • Communicate all new innovations, references, business openings and requests within the Global TCG team. Share best practise. Implement a global management model for the TCG. 
  • Represent Teknos in industry events (seminars, interviews, speaker forums etc.) 

The cooperation internally is run in a matrix. 


From you, we expect a deep understanding of technical and commercial aspects, international experience in sales and business development and proven people management skills. You combine analytical skills with business understanding and translate them into concrete plans to delivery solid results. Your approach is entrepreneurial.

Your ability to adopt and drive change allow you to work effectively even under pressure. You motivate people in matrix with your dynamism and collaborative skills. Your excellence in communication turn you into an interesting discussion partner. Your level of English is very high – any other languages are an asset. You use CRM, ERP systems and MS office daily. We are expecting at least 5 years of experience in a similar job combined with a relevant university degree on BSc or MSc level, preferably specialized in Technical or Business matters.
