Area Sales Manager - south east

Location: England  - UK

Main goals of the job

As an area sales manager you will increase the sales of paints and coatings within a defined territory and build sustainable revenue by embracing relationships with existing clients. You will also be tasked with ensuring profitable portfolio growth by securing significant new business.

Daily tasks and responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of regional accounts.
  • Maintain existing joinery business and progress planned development of the customer base in the region in line with the company's growth strategy.
  • Generate at least 5% of regional turnover each year from new business.
  • Ensure customers understand the full added value service provided by Teknos. 
  • Proactively work with colleagues in the GBI sales group to share and harness each others contacts and networks in a relevant region.
  • Attend relevant regional events to promote our products and expertise in the industry.
  • Make a proactive contribution to company market and technical planning process.
  • Support the marketing manager in the generation of new content by sharing your expertise and
  • knowledge. Actively look for potential case study opportunities that will positively promote the company.  
  • Carry out other task and duties as required by the company.

Qualifications

  • Knowledgeable – you must have, or have the ability to gain, a sound understanding of coatings technology and its practical application under factory conditions.
  • Planning & Preparation – you must be able to undertake background analysis when required, set clear goals for meetings and gather all appropriate materials and resources. You should be aware of the competition and able to effectively allocate time according to the opportunity.
  • Practical – after full training you must have the practical skills required to operate and demonstrate spray equipment and coating application.
